Internet Optimizer is an Internet Explorer error page hijacker that can display advertisements from its network sites by using popup Windows. It is usually installed by Money Tree, DyFuCA and Crmrest variant. Money Tree is an Active X Control Object that can download malware such as dialer or adware. The DyFuCA Active Alert component can pop up “alert” when directed by its controlling server. The Crmrest variant can forward spam E-mail to all contact addresses in your Outlook address book.

Internet Optimizer can also be classified as a “downloader”, which can download and install software onto a victim’s system without their knowledge.
